Full name: Iara Zar'ust Dracswell His father is half-drow, half amethyst dragon and his mother is a pure elf. As a child, Zar wanted nothing more than to help free trapped slaves from the drow deep below the city. So strong was this desire that he trained in using the bow from a very young age. Effuire was a beautiful and tolerant city; peoples of every race were allowed there so long as they behaved themselves and didn't cause trouble. Although Zar was in a sense a prince, he was still very much involved with the defense of the city. When it became apparent that two of the people had sold information about Effuire to their enemies, Zar and his father had them executed. Their child, a small half-elven baby was taken in by his father and she became his little sister Darkania. Zar's happy days pretty much ended there, though. His sister could get away with pretty much everything while he was punished for every little thing. He grew resentful of her as she became his father's favourite over Zar and she wasn't even his child by blood. Resentful or not he still loved her as much as a brother could love an annoying little sister, and would protect her from any dangers she could get her reckless self into. His father sent him to Thain because he was concerned that she was focusing more on her shop than of the duties of her people. Zar didn't object (his father had a very mean temper) after his father jokingly threatened him (although he didn't do a good job of making it sound like a joke) and he set off for Thain carrying only his Effuire made bow with him.
